Rocket League developer Psyonix on Valentine’s Day revealed that its flagship soccer-with-cars game will soon officially support Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro game console.

Psyonix Community Manager Devin Conners said in a post on Sony’s official PlayStation blog that an update scheduled to arrive February 21 (next Tuesday) will allow Rocket League to run at both 1080p (for a standard PlayStation 4) and 4K 60 fps on the newer PlayStation 4 Pro.

Such will only be the case in all arenas across single and two-player split-screen modes with Conners adding that three and four-player split-screen modes will offer 60 frames per second in most arenas at the same resolutions.

In case you missed it, the new update also includes a handful of other new features including Hot Wheels premium DLC cars, Hot Wheels-themed post-match item drops, a fan-voted “Player’s Choice” crate loaded with some of the community’s favorite items and multiple performance optimizations / bug fixes.

Conners promised this is just the first of many content updates planned for 2017.

If you’re struggling to keep pace with the growing number of games that are getting a PlayStation 4 Pro upgrade patch (or already have), GameSpot has a great resource featuring games that are getting an update and those that have been confirmed to not get an upgrade patch.
