Rockstar on Tuesday launched a new adversary mode for Grand Theft Auto V’s online component, GTA Online.

The new mode, dubbed In and Out, is described as an intense version of the capture mode in which one team attempts to steal eight packages that are being guarded by a well-armed group of defenders and return them to their team’s territory.

If an attacker is killed while carrying a package, it will drop on the map where they died. Interestingly enough, defenders can’t pick up packages that have been taken, meaning if a package is dropped around the corner, they’ll need to defend it from that spot.

To celebrate the arrival of the new online game mode, Rockstar is offering Double RP and Double GTA$ through May 5. What’s more, players can take advantage of discounts of up to 50 percent off select merchandise at Ammu-Nation including guns, ammo, weapon mods and explosives.

Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer mode is free to play but is bolstered with microtransactions, something that’s apparently been making Rockstar quite a bit of money.

As part of Leslie Benzie’s lawsuit against his former employer, it was revealed last month that Rockstar has collected at least $500 million in revenue from in-game purchases. Rockstar is still working on single-player DLC but with its multiplayer component doing so well, the company may be well-advised to delay the launch of said DLC for a while longer.

I put many hours into gta4 online and sa-mp, but I could not gt into gtav's multiplayer component. Even with this mission mode, it's not the same. I'll just play APB till it dies.

People still play APB? Now that's impressive, I actually bought the game, then it went down, then back up as F2P and never got back in to it. Gonna need to download it again I think.

Edit: Oh wait screw that, it's F2P but I get no recognition for having dished out $60 for it and now there's DLC and other BS... So forget that.

I used to play APB, while the crew component and customization of clothes and what not is on point, everything else GTA 5 destroys at. I wish GTA 5 had more of the "Cops and Robbers" components in from SAMP. How amazing would that be.

Guess Rockstar is just bad when it comes to making multiplayer games.

Still GTA V > APB (and thats coming from someone who played it pretty seriously back in the day).

I loved Crazy Bob's Cops and Robbers and always wondered why R* didn't go in that direction.
and yes GTAV>APB, but I just can't stop playing it even after 6 years. Digitally, nothing else gets my heart racing the same way for the pvp experience.
