Just purchased the new 3600X and upgraded my MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon mainboard to the BETA bios (1.NP AMD AGESA Combo AM4 1.0.0.3). Hearing some bad things about a lot of AM4 motherboards not detecting the CPU and was just wondering if anyone has the same board running a 3rd gen Ryzen 3600X that is working? Should I upgrade just now or hold off until a more stable complete BIOS becomes available from MSI?

Go ahead and buy the 3600X, if it doesn't work yet, put it up for the moment.

MSI Support suggests the CPU is now compatible, and the BETA bios will boot the CPU.

I think I may hold off until they release proper bios all the same as the BETA is full of simple spelling mistakes and the like, so who knows what else is broken or not fully functional.

Usually with MSI its best to do that, when I was using the am2+/am3+ version of mobo's.
Its a safe bet to stay on current bios until they iron out finalize the newer bios updates.
It could take them 2 months or more depending on the issues at hand.

Too late there I'm afraid, im running the Beta bios with my old 1600x, but it's "iffy".

Seen it fail to post numerous times, down to what I assume to change I made to memory, and all I did was turn on the AMP function. LOL

Think your advice is sound all the same, cheers.
