As Mobile World Congress and the handset’s reported April 15 launch date draw ever closer, we’re seeing more details of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 leak online. Last week brought what is suspected to be the first video of the flagship device, and now we know the precise measurements of both the S8 and larger S8 Plus.

GSM Arena revealed the size details, which come from the same case maker responsible for the recent Galaxy S8 renders. They show that the S8 Plus measures 152.38mm (5.9") x 78.51mm (3") x 7.94mm (0.3"), making it slightly longer and wider than the S7 Edge.

The S8 Plus’ screen is said to be around 6.3 inches (corner to corner) when viewed head on, though its rumored curved sides mean the actual size should be slightly larger. For comparison, the S7 Edge screen measures 5.5 inches.

The smaller Galaxy S8, meanwhile, measures 140.14mm (5.5") x 72.20 mm (2.8") x 7.30mm (0.2"). While this makes it shorter and thinner than the standard S7 (and slightly wider), its screen size is much bigger, thanks to the tiny top and bottom bezels and virtually no side bezels.

Not counting the curved edges, the S8’s screen is said to measure 5.7 inches, dwarfing the S7’s 5.1-inch display and larger even than what the S7 Edge offers.

The measurements are almost identical to rumored specs from early December, which claimed that the S8 would come in two sizes: 5.7 inches and 6.2 inches.

A recent promotional video from Samsung’s display division showing off new AMOLED panels features an unnamed smartphone that looks suspiciously like the S8. The device, which appears at the end of the clip, has the handset's rumored super-thin bezels and lacks a physical home button.
