Screen blackouts while gaming

Hello everyone! Hoping someone can help me with this.. Whenever I am playing games on my computer the screen goes black when there is too much going on in the game. It is not a system freeze because I am able to alt tab in and out of the game and the picture restores itself. Originally I assumed it was my monitor because I could still hear sound when the screen would go black. I recently purchased a new asus monitor and the screen is still going black while I'm playing. If someone could please help based on my information I would really appreciate it!

It is the GPU most likely because you are able to go back by pressing alt tab. Follow these steps:

1) Download this tool and run it: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx.
2) Restart your PC.
3) Install the latest driver: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx.

I did what you said and it seems to have worked! Played a game I normally play with issues and it worked just fine with no blackouts. Thank you so much!
