Silicon Valley reacts to Donald Trump's victory

Here come all the temper tantrums... I'm just waiting for Obama's tantrum. I will be pleasantly surprised if he doesn't throw one.

That being said had Hillary won there would have been a lot of tantrums as well. If Trump doesn't bring America back on the right course by 2020 you chaps better vote his *** out, I know I would.

LOL secession will NOT be tolerated.
Of course it won't, it's been illegal since the Civil War.

Which makes this potentially treasonous: "The rest of tech world hasn’t welcomed the news of a Trump presidency. Iranian-American entrepreneur Shervin Pishevar has said he will help the state of California – the sixth largest economy in the world - secede from the US and become its own nation. His plan was backed by fellow Angel investor Dave Morin".
So you are saying that someone in Texas should have been prosecuted for treason, too, when Texas was contemplating succession a few years back?

I don't agree with Pishevar's opinion that California should secede. States already have a good deal of leeway to govern themselves the way they want, never-mind the legality of such a move.
Indeed they do. Several states just legalized marijuana. Several have casino gambling without having native American ownership. Large population centers think they can leech whatever they can from the Federal Government without a substantial base of taxpayers to support their own economies. But, the whole affair does give one pause to wonder what percentage of California's economy comes from copyrighted works, and infringement lawsuits.

That being said, what exactly do you intend to accomplish by mentioning a person's Iranian heritage in such a manner? It sure doesn't sound like praise. Yes, Iran as a country has a reputation for hostility, but it should be obvious that the actions of governments do not always represent the people. We don't rag on Sergey Brin for being tied to the Soviet Union. The families of both moved to the United States for a better life.
Well, realistically, what else could they say? The trouble nowadays, is that mostly everybody wants to come to America 'for a better life on public assistance".

Then there's this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Experts_(1989_film While true this is a fictional political comedy, the basic operating premise is borne out by fact. Google it Yourself

So maybe we should keep one eyebrow up on Sergei, just in case. Jus' sayin'.

The simple fact of the matter is, race, religion, and national origin are very much everyone's primary allegiances.

So, that sort of makes emigrating from one's birthplace a tacit statement, "things aren't going here the way I'd hoped they would, (for ME), and it's bye-bye mother country.

And then there the whole "First Amendment thing", which pretty much gives me leave to state my opinion freely, whether you think it's "politically correct", or not.

Trump beat all the liberal media, the establishment republicans (RINO), and Hollywood's crybaby liberals (who threaten to leave the US now, lol). I'm ****ing stoked to no end. The US is now in good hands. Trump is going to do great things, mark my words doubters. Now I don't have to get sick to my stomach thinking about Crooked Hillary and her worthless husband in the White House.

Yep. Rose colored glasses syndrome again. Unless, of course, you are claiming remote vision through the eyes of every immigrant who wants to come to this country - or immigrated to 'Merica just to go on public assistance.

Crank, your anger is showing.

Well, contemplating secession, is not the same mounting an actual attempt at one, which is treason.

OTOH, gettin' too many "good ole boyz" together, and trying to enlist too many others in a "movement", could be grounds for a "conspiracy" charge. But, don't worry. Today's fed is too touchy feely and politically correct to mount that sort of a response. They'd likely just let the whole sordid affair burn itself out.

Hell, I'd be happy if we could just get pro athlete's to take part in the pledge of allegiance.

Oh crap, you're back, and I just got done quoting you. :D

At this point, I think you need glasses, period. Where the f*** is "Merica"?

Crank, your anger is showing.
Well, at least you've got that right.

I live in "the hood", and what I see in the majority of immigrants from Latin America, is a willingness to bust their butts to earn a living. What I see in the rest of my born and bred, "citizen neighbors", is this. One resident gets paid for free housing from Section 8 monies. Her son, grandson, live-in godknowswho, and several of their friends deal assorted drugs, up to and including, heroine, off the porch 24/7. The "house mother" works a few hours a week in "childcare", which for all intents and purposes is the only "viable industry", in my zipcode. My neighbors breed children. They are paid by various governmental agencies after they do so. And then, "double jeapordy attaches", because the government has to pay people to babysit. Keep in mind, "mom", can sit home and smoke crack, because after all, she's not qualified to "teach pre-K".

I lived through the first "civil rights movement", and believe me, it had nothing whatsoever to do with the sh!t going on now..

So, why don't you pop out those "rose colored contacts", and get it through your head, what you call "my anger", is actually "my observed experience", and you could learn a great deal from it.

Ah, Sarcasm. Love it.

So being a 'Merican means that you have to take part in the pledge of allegiance, or would you really rather have 'Mericans being happy?

You, too, have that whole freedom of expression right. Try being a citizen of North Korea and disagreeing with the regime there; that won't get you very far.

Even if you live in the hood, Crank, you have a far better life than those in North Korea, not to mention other much less advanced "third world" countries. Methinks you protest too much - unless, of course, posting here is practice for your drama class. ;)

Well so far I feel Obama, Clinton, and Trump have been very respectful and positive which is the way it should be. I don't feel it would have been the same had Clinton won... unfortunately. Trump is a loudmouth bully, no doubt about it. At least he wasn't Mr. Gloat Box after his win... so that has to mean something.

Well sociologists believe and I suppose have documented, a person's first allegiance should be to his or her country. Nixon actually screwed up when he introduced our all volunteer army.

You, too, have that whole freedom of expression right. Try being a citizen of North Korea and disagreeing with the regime there; that won't get you very far.
BTW, what exactly do you think is out percentage.of emigres from North Korea? Or maybe you think we should send "Wooden Ships" over there to evacuate the entire country. And since you're not a citizen of North Korea, maybe you should restrict your social commentary to "Merica".

Hey, a great many people in China don't have have a good life either. Maybe we should invite that 2 1/2 billion or so to live here.
WE have developed a certain standard of life, which is already stretched to the breaking point. Thus, it doesn't require too much commentary from you about the rest of the world. If social justice is what you want, invite some North Koreans over. Give them your house, your car, and your paycheck. Don't let the fed have to do it through taxes. You know how much waste there is in federal spending. Just hand them your paycheck outright, and go live in a cardboard box! It's the least you can do.

Even if you live in the hood, Crank, you have a far better life than those in North Korea, not to mention other much less advanced "third world" countries. Methinks you protest too much - unless, of course, posting here is practice for your drama class. ;)
Actually, I'm not even close to gay enough to study drama, be a figure skater, or a ballet dancer.

Well, simply because Trump said what it would seem a great many people were thinking, doesn't necessarily make him a "bully". He was/is/will be, a TV star. And as anyone in show business .will tell you, "any publicity is good publicity, even if it's bad publicity".

The odd part of the issue is, Trump had quite a bit of support from Latinos in the South West. That could conceivably be traced back to "NAFTA"

The Taylor guitar company is in "El Cajon" California, about 20 miles from the Mexican border. Taylor builds their American guitars there, starting at 3xx series and up.. Right across the border, the "Mexi-Taylors" are constructed at Tecale, Mexico. These can be had with starting prices as low as 1/3 that of the cheapest American models.

So, with workers at both factories possessing the same skill set, you can bet the Mexican Americans at the El Cajon factory, are always looking over their shoulders, to see if someone's chasing them..

We put up with Obama for 8 long years, We were not going to tolerate another 4 with an Obama clone.
I'm all for equality, but thats not what Obama or Clinton wanted they gave preferential treatment to anyone that wasnt White or Straight. How many police Departments that were of color got investigated? hmm When a white person got killed did they send the Justice Dept. to investigate? NO it wouldnt even be a footnote in the local paper. There's been homosexuals for Centuries heck even before Babylonian times.Nobody cares. What people do care about is when two people are at a public park having sex and there asked to leave. Then they cause a scene then claims its cuz there Gay. Straight people would be asked to leave also , its just common decency . Transvestites if you're so insecure about going in the mens bathroom go in the family bathrooms that most department stores have. I don't want some creeper perving on my granddaughter.
As for the illegals if you want to come to this country and go through the process of immigration great.. , but get the heck out until you do. Now you tools that call people racist to manipulate Don't care.. You hit someone once there like darn that hurt. You do it over and over don't care and then its like are you done yet? Same thing with words I'm a racist SO?
This election was a referendum on Obama ,The Press, and the Democratic party in general. ALL people and Religious Freedoms should be protected Equally not preferentially go Trump.

Well, Hillary Clinton pulled 88% of the urban, black vote. Last election, Obama pulled 93% of the urban, black vote.

If someone suddenly landed here from another planet, they'd (if they looked at those numbers, if they could count, and had any sense whatsoever), would justifiably think urban black voters were racist, with a capital "R".

And of course, many might claim "Wikipedia is probably making this up", but our current prez had a "baby daddy", Barack Obama Sr.

While attending a Russian language class, Dunham met Barack Obama, Sr., the school's first African student. At the age of 23, Obama Sr. had come to Hawaii to pursue his education, leaving behind a pregnant wife and infant son in his home town of Nyang'oma Kogelo in Kenya. Dunham and Obama Sr. were married on the Hawaiian island of Maui on February 2, 1961, despite parental opposition from both families. Dunham was three months pregnant. Obama Sr. eventually informed Dunham about his first marriage in Kenya but claimed he was divorced. Years later, she would discover this was false. Obama Sr.'s first wife, Kezia, later said she had granted her consent for him to marry a second wife, in keeping with Luo customs.

Ms. Dunham was Caucasian both before, and after, she bore our future president. See for yourselves. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Dunham

Of course, these facts weren't really called in to support either one of Mr. Obama's presidential campaigns. :D

I have absolutely no idea why. Anybody?

But the white nationals told me that once you go black, you can't have your Caucasian back?
Perhaps so. But we haven't actually "gone black" yet. You didn't hear a word I said, did you?

BTW, who did you say you were talking to about this, the president of the female p0rn stars union, or Hillary Clinton and the DNC?

from what I've seen, obama left the nation in better shape than he found it. this guy is just playing the same old game of blaming everything bad on whoever he already disapproves of, and everything good on his chosen hero
In what alternate universe do you live? Obama has led the country down the path of destruction. Over 90 million Americans either unemployed and can no longer find work or underemployed if they do. More people in the country on welfare and food stamps than when Obama became president. A failing healthcare system because very few can afford the premiums due to Obamacare. Iran on the way to a nuclear bomb. North Korea on the way to a delivery system that would hit the west coast and deliver a nuclear bomb. Illegals crossing the border and getting paid under the table doing jobs that Americans used to do. Of course, in "Silicon Valley", they could care less as long as they get their stock options, have plenty of H1Bs to do the grunt work, while bitching that Americans are no longer technically competent to do the job, even though they are expected to train their replacement. As one was quoted in the article about California seceding from the Union, great. They can have all the illegals, get whacked out on the wacky-tabacky, have all the debauchery there little hearts desire and set up a neo-lib mecca for the rest of the neo-libs to migrate.

Actually, Bill will probably be with his buddy, Jeffrey Epstein and the teeny-boppers on Epstein's private island.

Actually, I think those pro-Clinton Silicon Valley CEOs and their companies be taxes at 99%. It will help pay off the national debt - maybe in 40 or 50 years. Only those who do all their manufacturing stateside and only hire American citizens would get a good tax break.

To his credit (so far), at least he plans to show a lot more class than the Clintons did when Bush won and took over. Like trailer trash, the Clintons took a number of items that were part of the White House property, their minions damaged property such as government computers used by the WH staff, etc.

The peasceful tranition of power is a hallmark of our democtaric representative republic .

The liberal crime wave outta the white-house and by the liberal elites declines in January and the Obama Clinton policys and attendant failures have been wholly rejected *by the constitutuinal election .

Aside from our individual political positions and opinions Pres. elect Trump can get things done and negotiate unlike Obama and Hillary Clinton .

Silicon valley ,conservative GOP ,the wholly corrupt liberal media ,educators. pundits and political hacks ,think policy for pay so called think tanks ,elite globalists ,business , Hollyuwood ,and the democrats should all take note of populist BREXIT and the USEXIT that just happened and handed all them their azzess ☺

We owe it to the nation to give Trump and a GOP majority in both houses and state governors a chance considering the abject failure of BHO ,the last administration ,the gridlocked congress ,GW Bush's failures ,the last 50 years of public , economic and trade policy failures ,the Clinton regime corruption and the BHO /Hillary Clinton legacy of corruption and ruin

I am a Trump Republican.
Good luck with that.

We don't need luck. We've got common sense, a work ethic, and a great new President that we elected. After we're done laughing at all the delusional lefty crybabies who called us Nazis for the past year, we're getting back to work making America great again.
