Hi Guys,
I am running an old Windows XP.
All od a sudden.[ 2 days ago ] I click on Craigslist and I get a "Can not connect" window even though I can access any and all of other web sites.
Also, now when I try to upload a photo onto Facebook.....it says "choose file"..."click upload"...but its dead. Yet I can upload photos to other web sites.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
Thanks.

NET START "DNS CLIENT"

quit your browser and relaunch it

Hi Jobeard
I hate to admit how computer ignorant I am, but....could you tell me in simple terms the steps I take to do what you suggested ?

These are the images of what I am getting.
I noticed that the dead link on the Facebook Page will let me post comments and even upload videos ....but not images.

Doctor Gallop,do you have a current and updated Virus/Malware scanning program that you use. Also, you can just use this freebie from Piriform to keep the junk files at bay, and it will clear out your DNS cache.

CCleaner:

Since it won't let you upload videos, can you post links to it? Like this one
an example only.

To follow jobeards instructions first open a Command Prompt window
> Click Start->Run, enter cmd click OK

Now copy the commands
Code:
IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS
NET STOP "DNS CLIENT"
NET START "DNS CLIENT"
Right click on the title bar of the command prompt window, select Edit->Paste to run the commands

If still a problem, you can also try resetting your hosts file by running the MS Fixit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034

Followed your instructions...no change and problem still persists

Although I haven't been on Facebook for 3 years, at this point I would say to log in to your account settings and look carefully at ALL the settings concerning content upload as they may have changed some parameter
