Recently, both GameStop and Amazon announced Xbox One trade in programs that will allow users to upgrade Xbox 360 games to the next gen version. Seemingly left out of the mix, Sony's games aren't part of those promotions, but the company has devised its own upgrade program.

Announced by SCEA president Andrew House at yesterday's Gamescom 2013 presentation, the program will allow gamers that grabbed the current gen version of select games to upgrade to the digital PS4 version.

Details are a little thin at this point, so it's unclear exactly how the program will work. We know Amazon and GameStop will push Xbox One game upgrades out for as little as $10 a pop, whereas Sony has only said that PS4 versions will be available at a "significantly discounted price."

Many of the same titles offered in GameStop and Amazon's promo will be available here as well. House said that Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, and Warner Bros. are all on board right now, so eligible titles will include much of what you would expect with Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. There was no mention of EA's sports titles like Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14. It's also unclear how long the offer will run for and whether it will be available worldwide. Sony said more details will be revealed over the coming weeks.

The Playstation 4 is set to launch on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. Microsoft's next gen offering is yet to be assigned a specific launch date.
