Sprint's customers will soon be able to stream music from Spotify and pay for the service using the wireless carrier’s billing system, according to Re/Code.

In January, AT&T and Beats music collaborated to provide a similar service to the former's customers. The offer included unlimited streaming music and downloads for up to five family members across 10 devices for only $15 a month. Users were also offered a 90 day free trial period.

Sprint and Spotify are expected to provide a similar offer to those who are using the wireless carrier's family plan. A subset of Sprint's customers might also get discounts on Spotify’s premium service, which costs $9.99 a month.

Although both the companies are working to push the deal through, and an official announcement in this regard is expected at an event in New York City on April 29, the deal could be delayed because the wireless carrier also has to negotiate with the music labels that license their music to Spotify.

For Spotify, the deal comes at a time when the company is planning to launch its own IPO which is reported to happen later this year. Although the company announced last year that it had six million subscribers worldwide, it has been telling music industry officials that the number is now closer to nine million.
