Standby option deactivated

hi,
i'm using windows xp os.the "stand by" option at "turn off" is deactivated.
i tried a system restore but it didn't work.

can anyone please tell me what to do??

You will have to reinstall or update the video driver. What are your computers specs? Make and model?

Check Control Panel->Power Options. Make sure Standby is not set to Never

i re installed the VGA driver.now it's working.
but i don't know how it got re installed.does it happen automatically??

Yes the video driver corrected itself. The driver probably got corrupted by installing a program or removing other stuff from your computer
