It's not the board itself, it's the chipset on the board that MAY be the issue. It has onboard Radeon graphics. I'm willing to put money on a driver conflict issue.

Now, that RAM may still be an issue, it wouldn't hurt to check it. Same with the PEG link.

Ah, I see. Never had a Radeon card in my life except for this onboard one, so you could have a point.

RAM would be annoying to check as it can often take a couple of days for the first restart to pop up and then it'll do it continuously until you change something. Can you explain what you mean by the PEG link? I'm nerdy, but not that nerdy.

No worries. I should clarify. The actual "PEG Link" settings are exclusive to Asus.. . But Gigabyte uses somewhat similar ideas.

Does your board have the PCI Express clock drive setting? The Intel Gigabyte boards do. That setting and related is somewhat the same idea as Asus' PEG Link.

Firstly I would like to make a correction, the old card was an Albatron not a Gigabyte.

However I have now swapped the models so that I now have the Gigabyte version of the 9600GT to see if that makes a difference. Same problem.

Ordering in a new Motherboard. Process of elimination.
