I found my screen goes black suddenly with lagged sound when i am watching video. It is the same when i am playing on both PowerDVD 10 Mark II Version 10.0.2429.51 and Windows Media Player 11. Below are the specifications:

1. AMD Phenom II X2 560BE at stock speed.
2. 2 x Kingston Value Series DDR3-1333 2GB ram (Ganged)
3. Gigabyte 870A-UD3 motherboard (Bios version: F5a)
4. Gigabyte Radeon HD5750 GDDR5 1GB graphic card
5. WD-5000AADS Caviar Green 500 GB hard drive
6. Creative SB Audigy Value
7. Coolermaster Extreme Power 460W psu
8. Coolermaster Hyper 212+ cooler
9. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
10. ATI Catalyst 11.2

Is my computer dying?

have you tried different player? i.e. vlc or media player classic.
it can also be a codec issue, have you tried other video types?

yes i have tried both PowerDVD Mk I and Mk II and both are filled with bugs, especially when dealing with certain codecs. although i have to admit the video effects are sometimes useful.

Your advise might be useful... I will try on the other players soon. However for your information the same problem happens to me too in some games such as Crysis, Battlefield BC2 and Starcraft II.

Check the temperature of PC... also check if you PSU is supplying enough power to your graphic and sound card...

The temperature is normal too... Hyper 212 plus is able to keep my phenom II at 36 degree celcius... While GPU also run at around 47 to 53 degree celcius. About the power supply... The extreme power is not enough yet? =O
