Having problems with the above. I believe this is a known trojan which also restricts acess to your task manager (Task manager has been disabled by Admin) message anytime you try to access it. While I am no longer getting the "command window" pop ups, I am still generating internet traffic that's not me (approximately 200 packets a second.) Please advise as to where I need to begin and what you need from me in order to get rid of this nastiness. While I would prefer to wipe my system and start over, that is not an option at this point as I am away from my OS disc =(. Thanks much for your help.

Zone Alarm is installed but I haven't been running it the last few days (since infection). Zonealarm did not find this infection and now it errors out anytime it attempts to scan. Seems to be causing more problems than it's solving at the moment.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Regards Howard
