Facepalm: While these troubling times have brought huge changes to most people’s lives, the world of online ‘influencers’ remains filled with the remarkably stupid. High on this list is potential Darwin Award winner Ava Louise, who shared a TikTok video of herself licking an airplane toilet seat in a “coronavirus challenge.”

The 22-year-old, who has twice appeared on the Dr. Phil show, boasts almost 22,000 TikTok followers and around 162,000 on Instagram. She shared the clip of her kneeling in front of a plane’s toilet before running her tongue across it. The video was removed from TikTok but is still available on Twitter, where it's closing in on 400,000 views. “Please RT this so people can know how to properly be sanitary on the airplane,” she wrote.

Ava later confirmed she started the challenge for “clout,” adding that "I can't get coronavirus. Just like the gays, rich blonde bitches are IMMUNE."

Talking to Insider about the coronavirus and her challenge, Ava said: "The xenophobia makes me sad. What's not gunna make people sad is a hot rich blonde 20-something-year-old licking a toilet. It's not like the virus can kill me anyway because I don't use Facebook."

Ava’s words of wisdom have included “coronavirus is for poor people,” and “Just remember you caught coronavirus because you’re ugly. If you stopped stuffing your fat face and lost some weight you wouldn’t catch coronavirus.”

While younger people without underlying health conditions are at very low risk from the virus and often asymptomatic, the problem is that they can pass it on to those who are vulnerable.

With many countries introducing extreme measures to combat the spread of COVID-19, which has killed over 7,000, Ava’s video has been met with a deluge of criticism, understandably. But it has brought her the attention that so many influencers will do anything for, including licking toilets, so she's unlikely to care.

I just read your post AND your plea but honestly what sort of comments do you expect under such post? Hard not to be negative or at least a bit cynical about some people intelligence if not anything else.. So if you don’t want such comments either stop posting in the tech oriented website off topic ‘articles’ or switch comments off under such posts.. otherwise you’re asking for it so don’t complain afterwards.

This is basically the "free market" at work. Someone sees that they can fill a niche by making ridiculous content and the market chooses whether or not to concume it - thereby feeding her attention and thereby making her famous (infamous).

If the market ignores her, she won't earn money and will either have to try harder or simply disappear.

Why does this article exist? This is nothing of any value and should be removed. Promoting stupidity which has nothing to do with anything technology related has no place on a Techspot.

What's worse is the appeal you then put up at the bottom of the page: "TechSpot has contributed positively to the tech community for nearly two decades with intelligent conversation and analysis aimed at IT pros and enthusiasts." Please for your own sake remove this garbage article...

Do you honestly expect people to not be cynical about some ***** licking a god damn toilet seat and spewing garbage about it?

Not going to lie. When I saw the thumbnail I did not see her licking a toliet, it looked like she was joining the Mile High Club. I"d be less worried about the c-virus and more of who's *** has been there recently. She definitely fits the profile, doesn't look like the brightest crayon in the box. Also like others have said, why?

And you're embedding her video and linking to her profile, ensuring her view counts get increased, "rewarding" her for her stupidity. The world was/is indeed ripe for a coronavirus outbreak..
Time for a reality check. Licking a toilet seat is more likely to net you an E coli infection, than corona virus,

Unless of course, someone with the virus, sneezed on the toilet seat.

I still think she should "grow a pair", (euphemistically speaking, of course), and lick a toilet on in a turnpike truck stop.

Who knows, lipstick stains on the the seat, might arouse a trucker to pleasure himself in her honor, and maybe even become a follower. (y) (Y)?

I am no stranger to posting sarcasm and I rarely have criticized TS for its posts; while I would argue that this is tech related, I see it as unnecessary for the TS audience.

There are times when I have disagreed with TS members and, as such, some of my posts have been excised, however, I would have to say that the vast majority of TS members I have engaged with over the years, including those I disagree with, possess enough intelligence to realize that this woman is yet another spoiled brat begging for attention, and as such, it is a rather condescending.

That said, I feel sorry for this woman. She has no idea what she is facing and her foibles are self-defeating; she is the trickster that is fooling no one but herself. It sounds like she believes that her riches and her physical beauty make her someone special. For me, the most beautiful and the most rich often lack any depth and especially any true inner beauty, and, more often than not, take themselves too seriously.

For me, this is a comment on exactly what modern society values the most.

I am surprised Tweeter is leaving it up - but then again, that's how Tweeter makes its money, and clearly, that is what this is about.

So, TS, if this post attracts sarcastic comments, honestly, take responsibility for the items you post. Maybe TS could take some positive action and implore Tweeter to take this down.

No counter-argument here

On a more serious note, we let our writers pick stories and I imagine the reason this got covered was because of the tech/cultural phenomenon that TikTok is. However stupid it may be (or how we 30-50+ yrs old perceive it), ask any 12 year old and suddenly they have a completely different take on things.
