I had a Friend's Toshiba L775 that would just briefly flash the leds when the power switch was pushed. Most posts pointed to Ram or mb. I suspected the power switch. I put a salvaged HD magnet to the right of the TouchPad and it powered up like magic and stayed working. The reed switch must have been stuck.
