Toshiba satalite a45-s250 DVD drive failed and Windows crash.

Hey, i was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a toshiba satalite a45-s250 and my intrenal dvd drive died. Now on top of that my windows crashed. I was wondering if it is possible to restore windows using an external dvd drive? i have the reboot cd that shipped with the laptop. Please help. thanks!!!!

chances are good that you won't be able to boot your system from an external CD, but you can try. CD/DVD ROM drives for laptops, are not too expensive, but the combo writers can run $250+

I would suggest that you might take the laptop to a repair shop and let them restore your OS and replace the DVD drive
