Touch pad disabling button doesn't work

hi
i have dell inspiron n5010
i want to disable its touch pad but cant figure it out
there is a touch pad disabling button (right beside f12 key) but it doesn't work

can anyone tell me how to do it cuz it gets really irritating sometimes.

@ CAMusing..i tried that...i usuallly place a cloth to cover it but that is annoying itself

the touch freeze didnt work. and thanx for the link although it didnt solve my problem because i dont have a touch pad tab in my mouse options
 
hey i just installed the touch pad driver. and the button started working. although the touchpad was working without the driver. strange. nyway

If your operating system is Windows 7.

Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Mouse
Click on Dell Touchpad tab
Then click on the big brown arrow
 
yeah i went there but there wasnt any touch pad tab..i went into device manager and saw that there wasnt any driver installed for touchpad even though it was working . so i downloaded it and installed it and the touchpad tab appeared and the touchpad disabling button started to work. thanx for the support :)
