It's hard to go wrong with something as established as Transformers :)
I feel that they could have been a little less cheesy and more serious, there wasn't enough violence. But it is a movie aimed at the younger people.

What i don't get is why Optimus Prime is a retard, he tells sam to put the cube in his chest and kill him but sam did the right thing and put it in megatron's chest. I wish sam killed optimus just because optimus is stupid

This is the kind of thing that could earn you the diagnosis of "sociopath".

Transformer was a great movie, not the best movie I ever saw , but well put. Only problem, the "sector 7" or whatever the name, they were bad actors. Thats about it. :)

Found the movie entertaining but I'd be wanting more fight scenes and generally was disappointed at the ending at how Sam defeated Megatron...just wasn't what I expected

Optimus Prime seems like a pansy. Aside from his awesome beheadding scene on the highway he doesn't do much other than get beat up. I've been watching a few of the old cartoons and seen a few fights between him and Megatron, and Megatron always has the upper hand.

Stupid as a bowl of Beans, er I Mean Rock.....

I don't understand why they ended a 20min awesome battle scene by stuffing a cube in megatron's chest. (Thats it?)

Sort of an ironic, dark, and disturbing twist on the "Tin Man" needing a heart, wasn't it? Well, dark, disturbing, and cheesy all at once.

That's always been the problem in figuring out how to destroy an indestructable opponent. Once you establish the fact that the situation is insurmountable, a not so obvious simple solution is all that remains available. A brains versus brawn paradyne. Besides, how else would you make Shia LeBeouf look tough or smart? "Where's the beef"? Please, spare me. Is that any thing like, sure "Tyrone Power was his real name or, he was Rock Hudson since birth maybe. You are of course aware that "LaBoeuf" is "the beef" in French. They were going to name him "Chili con Carne". Oooo, he's hot! ?Hablan ustedes Espanol?

The Cranky version:
Megan Fox storms in, dressed in a soaking wet bikini and jambs the cube into Megatron's rear waste elimination interface! Y'all bees messin' wif my man, F*** you! Ooooo, cut that out, or buy me dinner, says Megatron! Megatron explodes, feeling content but badly used all at once. If she bent over while inserting the cube, the ending would have been truly "climactic". (If you'll pardon the pun).

Smelly Footnote;
My ending probably would have compromised the movie's PG-13 rating. Although, Megan's "F bomb", is used as an expletive, and therefore could be permitted one time only, in a PG-13 film. However, her concomitant activities may have negated the availability of that particular exclusion.

An Elizabethan Drama........But With Modern FX....

If I punctuate this properly, William Shakespeare should roll over in his grave.....;)

Megatron looks back over his shoulder at Ms Fox, stares wistfully at her, stuttering slightly as he delivers this, his last line...., "That Madam, was the unkindest cube of all".:dead:

The flaw of the movie is that robots can't feel, so they don't work as major characters.
Yeah well, you just wait until Megan Fox perfects her new Kung Fu fighting style, "cube in fist", and we'll just see if Megatron doesn't feel anything, or at least propose marriage to her.

And now as a punishment for the "F" you've obviously received in your "temporarily suspending disbelief class", I want you to write, "I must anthropomorphize the characters in the Sci-Fi films I watch", one hundred times. Use the force if you have to.:darth:

captaincranky, are you the Second Coming of Dr. Freud?
Perhaps this is why I keep slipping up and pronouncing the title, "Tranny-Stormers". I might need my subconscious washed out with soap.

But first Mr Rage, vee should deez-kuss how do you feel about zat......?

I like the Transformers movie but agree that the plot was weak. I mean seriously, the whole map implanted on the glasses thing was ridiculous. Still, it kept me on the edge of my seat.

I Think Therefore I Spam......Is That Right......?

haha, Megan Fox was good.
This could also be expressed in the future subjunctive; "Megan Fox would be good".

But people complain that it focused too much on humans and not enough on robots. eh.
Isn't it just like those darned humans, always needing to be the center of attention! We should get the robots to write the sequel!;) :haha:

this movie is the pwner xD

it rox my sox. It was probably one of the greatest movies i've seen in a while, not to mention that megan fox *whistle* certainly grabs my attention.

Loved it. Wish there was more scenes of Megan Fox though. BTW, I had no idea Transformers originated from Japan, I thought it was American.

Obviously the animated series was a classic but I was impressed with the live-action adaptation, to be honest. It was entertaining as hell. There wasn't much deep-thinking required and that's just fine with me when that kind of cinema is called for. I'd recommend it, no doubt about it.

The Edge of Your Seat School of Drama......

Amen to that Joe! There's no point to overthinking the plot of a good summer movie. They're intended to be just a great thrill ride, nothing more. This one hit that mark for sure.

If they can deliver the same quality with a bit more fun, the next one will be just as enjoyable. Too many people seemed to be looking for some kind of "Second Coming" style event with this film but these adaptations are never going to scratch the surface of our childhood memories, so why expect it to?

After seeing this cartoon adaptation, I'm looking forward to the upcoming He-Man and G.I. Joe.
