Saw Transformers 2 today. It was pretty good, I guess about equal to the first. The person I saw it with thought it was better than the first.

Random thoughts on it without spoilers:
* They really tried to get provocative shots of Megan Fox, the motorcycle one in the trailer is the most blatant, but there are lots of slow motion shots of her chest/cleavage towards the end.

* There is a lot more crude humor/bad language in this one than the first.

* A lot of back story on the bots.

* Movie is pretty long, I think it was about 2.5 hours, well worth the money to see it in a theater. Hopefully the theater you see it in has a better sound system than the one I saw it in, I may go again at a different theater just to watch it with better sound. The bass was incredibly weak - they must have had something wrong with their low end speakers.

* More action/fighting/stuff blowing up than the first, but I guess thats to be expected when you have more money to play with.

I liked the second one a lot. One thing I learned from living with two film majors for 5 years is that if you like a specific genre of movie, or you're a fan of a cgi+++ movie that was a childhood fav/comic book fav, dont take it too serious, it just needs to look good, not follow the story you think it should. Remember the people that make these movies have to make more money off future episodes, so stop balling you panties in a bunch because you cant see a specific characters story in one episode, its a movie, not an autobiography.

Plaid Skirts and Visible Panty Lines.........Um, Forever..!

My blocking for a shot would be, "the camera follows behind her up the ladder"! (In slow-mo of course)!

Did you know that a movie can permit dropping the "F bomb" one time, and still maintain its PG-13 rating. It must be used a an expletive though, rather than referring to the act itself. To wit; "Holy f***sticks Batman"! Well, actually that could go either way.

I really think that around 3 hours would be the break even point for ticket price versus inflation.

"Awesome"

supersmash - I don't think you were referring to me, but I have no problems with how they are presenting the movie, I like it being funny.

This movie was rubbish; I wasted the two and a half hours I could have devoted to Prototype!

I loved the first one, but this one was like Blade Trinity all over again...

Still, ya gotta admit, Megan Fox is hotter than Jessica Beil! Especially when Jessica "bulks up" for one of her summer action stinkers. Sort of like a drag queen on steroids .

LOL cap, yeah, it was all about her twin assets swinging all over the place in slow-mo.

I think you'd probably have a YouTube video soon on those scenes, set to something like N.E.R.D.'s Lapdance. Now that would be something! :D

It overdid the robot vs. robot part. Don't get me wrong, I loved the fights in the first one, but in this one, they were so wild that you couldn't make out who was fighting whom. Plus the humor was just crap; Mudflap and Skids were ridiculously stereotypical, to the point of being offensive. Ditto for the Devastator's "balls of steel" dangling around for everyone to see. In addition, the storyline was practically paper-thin; but I digress, Bay has never been known for telling good stories. His movies are filled with nothing but explosions. Indeed, you could actually summarize his style of direction in a single word: BOOM!

Megan Fox looked hot in the first one, but this time around I started to somehow visualize her as a somewhat-inflated Jennifer Connelly clone with a tan. Only difference being that Connelly can act. That was also a turn-off for me.

Overall, it was just too geared towards the mindless consumers to make it appealing to me.

the first 1/3 was amazing the second was long and drawn out and the end was o.k. the story was so simplistic after all it was a teen flick, and you don't need a story with special F/X like that , it was exactly what I expected.

Transformers 2.....In a Word......"Confusing"......

or perhaps "blurry" might also well apply.....!

I saw "Revenge of the Fallen" yesterday in IMAX. That seemed like a good idea at the time but, I don't believe the movie was shot in IMAX, merely printed to IMAX. As a result of this, I don't believe it was anywhere near as sharp as that medium would allow otherwise.

The best part of the movie was the down home humor. I found myself laughing hysterically many, many times during the show.

I suppose that this is going to be a sacrelige but I thought the CGI sucked, especially the fight scenes. Mr Bay and/or the FX crew seems to think that an exorbitant amount of motion blur solves all rendering and reality issues. Truth be told it's very confusing trying to determine who's winning, who just got killed, or even who hit who with what. And if you think Shia LeBoeuf is annoying in CinemaScope, wait till you've been confronted with a thirty foot high head shot of him. Wow, now that's revulsion in the flesh.

One thing, I don't think there was actually enough footage of Megan Fox running in slo-mo. That might have taken my mind off the multitude of other annoyances that this movie flagrantly displays.

I actually think the DVD will be better, since the issues of sharpness may resolve themselves via scale of reproduction.

Effects were amazing, but the plot leaved much to be desired.
Since the original "Transformers" was a cartoon, pretty much aimed at prepubescent children, I suppose we should just be thankful that the movie even had a plot. But don't ya think it had some really comical moments, plot or not...?

So glad they booted Fox. A friend of mine said she would be perfect for porn...she's hott and she can't act. Although i'm not sure how well the porn industry would put up with her b*tchy attitude (unless she went into dominatrix or something.

I knew when I saw her in the first movie that was a b*tch in person...same thing for the second movie...and now after hearing her actually talk, I know she is, lol. The next Transformers movie will do just as well without her. The first two were great, so I'm looking forward to number 3.

Dom Fox...........

Well, couldn't they keep Fox and just rate the next movie XXX. I can see the Marquis now, "Transformers 3; Megan does the Autobots"! or maybe, "Transfomers 3; Descent to the Dungeon". Strap yourselves on boys of girls, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

"Ok Autobots, pants down. Autobots...ENGAGE!!!"

*bwoooooooooow oom-cha oom-cha oom-cha bow-wow-wow-wow oom-cha oom-cha oom-cha*

"Uh...uh....AHHHHHH.........that was just prime."

Yeah, I know...I have a seriously screwed up mind, lol
