If you like the idea of traveling but for whatever reasons you can’t make it happen, download Ascape. The free Android app was released earlier this year and lets you take immersive tours of cool places on your phone or using VR headsets that work with Android phones.

The virtual reality startup launched their first guided tour in August. The tour titled “You Are Here: San Francisco” was lead by Stuart Schuffman, a San Francisco mayoral candidate and the host of IFC’s Young, Broke and Beautiful. The tour, presented in 4K 360-degree video, takes you through major sites as well as some hidden gems only the locals know about (until now). The San Francisco tour is also being screened across the nation as part of the Kaleidoscope 2015 VR Film Festival.

Other places you can explore with Ascape so far are Saint Petersburg, the French Alps, and the ancient ruins of Petra. Ascape is calling for people to submit content to add to their repertoire. And if your content is accepted, you'll be paid each time it's downloaded.

If you’re an Apple user, don’t worry. E27 reports that an iOS version of the app will be released in late October, with VR Gear versions out next year.
