trouble installing winxp pro to new machine

I just built a new computer with ASUS A7N8X-E deluxe motherboard - 1 GIG Ultra DDR memory PC3200 400mhz - AMD XP3000 cpu and XFX GeForce 5500 video card - Maxtor 160GB EIDE 7200/8MB/ATA-133 I'm trying to install OEM winXP pro. At first I was getting blue screen errors I disabled SATA on mb and disabled L1 cache and L2 cache. formatted in NTFS and now it is taking forever to load windows it is only at 38% and it has been an hour any suggestions? Help please...

Disabling caches was a bad idea. Turn them back on. You should run a memory test and check the HD just in case too.
