Ubisoft says it will patch graphic nudity in Watch Dogs 2 after Sony bans player for sharing image

Despite some problems with its online multiplayer element, Watch Dogs 2 is getting positive reviews. But it seems Ubisoft may have put a bit too much effort into faithfully recreating female characters’ genitalia, and is now promising a patch to remove it.

Earlier this week, NeoGAF user Goron2000 revealed that after he "accidentally blew up a few women in a back alley," he spotted one of them exposing her fully-rendered lady parts. Using the in-game camera, he captured the image and posted it on Twitter via the PlayStation 4’s Share feature.

For daring to share a unmodified picture from a popular title using an in-game tool, Goron2000 was suspended from the PlayStation Network for a month (it was originally a week, but this was increased). Sony’s reason? “Content of an adult or sexual nature is against our Code of Conduct,” wrote Sony in the notification message.

Twitter user Swizzasaur showed the offending image in a tweet. Be warned, it’s obviously NSFW. If you want to see what Sony was so annoyed about, check out this picture.

Ubisoft has since apologized and will be updating the character model to make her more anatomically incorrect. "We’re aware that one of the NPC models in Watch Dogs 2 is rendered in a way that is particularly explicit,” the company told Polygon. “While Watch Dogs 2 is a mature-rated game, we apologize and will update this NPC model to make it more consistent with other NPC models in the game in a patch to be released this week. We also are working with our first-party partners to ensure that players can continue to play and share all content from the game within the bounds of the first parties’ respective codes of conduct.”

While Ubisoft’s claims this character is a one-off, there are plenty more examples of nudity in Watch Dogs 2, albeit not quite as detailed. YouTuber Servan Demir uploaded a video of a male character relieving himself in back alley while wearing nothing but a beanie. Another clip shows a hippie commune featuring a naked woman.

Since the incident was made public, Sony has reinstated Goron2000’s PSN account.

Is that it?

Despite the low resolution of the mons pubis, I'm more amazed that they were able to create a sense of depth for the gluteus maximus and gluteus minimus.

I was truly expecting something as graphic as a specific HR Geiger creation.

THEN - I might have taken issue...

Thing is, all you've gotta do is make the game AO.

But can someone explain to me why we are still bothering with the ESRB when it's so obvious they've failed?

Sub Zero's headrip is now MK:X and games where people are being castrated.
(Outlast Whistleblower)

Kids can buy and download games without ever even seeing a pimple-faced Gamestop employee who can deny them the ability to buy a "Mature" game.

Kids have access to hardcore/ questionable porn on their most basic internet browser video game systems.

Parents are so tech illiterate that their kids are the ones they go to when they want to set up parental controls.

In fact, when I set my mom/ dad's wifi and Fios router up at their house, I specifically blocked the porn channels because I personally don't think they should be watching that kinda stuff.

Damn her ***** look so hot that probably all the other npc's wanna get some. and what fine bush she got. I wonder if they will sensor all the nude beaches in real life. I think not when most women's pussies are soo hot that they have to display them. Ho ho ho

Lol. That was very well put. Excellent. Showing images and videos of white cops drilling unarmed African Americans all around the world is also acceptable, but a bit of muff?

Police shootings are actually rare compared to the number of police-civilian interactions .

The problem is that everyone is walking around with an HD camcorder in their pocket and as soon as they see the police interact with anyone they are ready to start recording because they're hoping for something exciting to happen.

Then, they completely bypass decency filters and post these "public executions" on Youtube, Facebook, snapchat...whatever and everyone sees them - including minors.

The News media can't possibly keep up with Youtube so they borrow the videos they can and build their pathetic talking points around them.
