Unable to access bios

So I have a very strange issue with my laptop.
It's a Toshiba a665-06f
I7 q740@1.73ghz
8gb ram
500gb Samsung ssd
Running Windows 8.1 pro

I can't get into the bios it boots in less than 10 secs, I've even tryed removing the hdd to get it to boot to the bios but it just sits at a blank screen when I do that. I've tryed tapping the all the f keys the del and esc on start cant get into the bios or even the boot options. Other than not booting into the bois it works great.
Any ideas please?

correct I am useing it right now. its very confusing. all I wanted to do was change the keyboard lighting setting in the bois.

I also try the holding down the left shift key and restarting, but because I upgrade to 8.1 from 7 theres no option to boot the bois.

I would say that it was a memory issue, but because Windows is fine, I don't know what else to suggest...
