Cougar FTW!

I feel the pain for photoshop and premier!

I cant belive Gabriel got that last year! second hand I hope!

The only issue I have with voting for the PC with the worst parts (Gabriel) is that I could potentially just purchase a similarly sad PC by looking around on craigslist deals for probably sub $300, enter it on here and get voted for to get something of much greater value because that seems to be what people care about here. It's not hard to stay relatively current if you invest some time looking around for used parts and a little bit of money for those used parts.

I ruled out Kevin and Gabriel because they likely do not use their fx 6300s to their full potential. A stock cooler with motherboards capable of overclocking? Invest $20 more for a cooler new or find one for $5 used and you could get much better performance. You could save $20 by not eating out for a couple days, or if you already do that, dip into other parts of your budget. $20 will not ruin your financial life, if it does, you should be figuring that out, not on here trying to get a couple better PC parts.

Yes you could save $500 eventually to buy all these cool new parts that Steve is offering to winners, but that is much less realistic than saving $20 or as little as $5. It would take me probably about a year save up that amount.

Sam, Alex and McKay all look like they have pretty ok PCs that just need a CPU/mobo upgrade (and once the price of Ryzen drops it will probably be the right time to do so! ...in my opinion anyway). I ended up picking Sam because I thought he had the best chance to win over Gabriel. Looking at the vote count though, I'm pretty discouraged.

I feel like people should be voting for individuals who put effort into keeping their PC up-to-date and in working order for their needs but modern upgrades (that you cant find good used deals on) are just out of their budget. Instead I see a voting pool that can be easily manipulated if you put a crappy enough PC on. Pretty disappointing.

Totally agree with you.
Some people are just sentimental about some BS and then vote for that. Voting here has to be for the most deserving so it must be objective.
To add insult to injury some do pictures with dirty PCs and if selected those get most of the votes.

Gabriel has my vote, gosh that 750 ti is horrendous especially when its paired with the FX-6300. Honestly, I feel like Steve could have went for the Ryzen 3 1200 and squeezed in a 1060 3gb
My thoughts exactly, although this is still a MASSIVE performance jump.

Hmm this is hard one for me because I feel for gabe with his 750ti but I liked Alex idea of moving to the AM4 socket for up-gradable system later for his music production needs. You got my vote mate. hope you get make some tunes on a new rig!

Well good luck Sam. I am rooting for you.
People saying that Sam has a GTX 1060 so he shouldn't get the upgrade but that they should know he saved up for quite some time before he could get it.

Good luck Gabriel, the Deathstar needs to retire that 750ti! And get more power under the hood!

It took me a while to decide, all of them deserved the upgrade but I think Gabriel would be the one.

More power to you generous people making this possible!

I love when you come to vote after jotting down all the specs vs upgrades and come to find everyone else is just as intelligent as you are about this.

it was pretty much Mckay with that 480 since it runs slower than all the 780s listed but then Gabriel just had to have that poor little 750ti.
In short he's going to double his fps in game where everyone else wouldn't really see to much gain in games, however cpu workloads for everyone will skyrocket sine the fx chips have all the performance of a car in the junkyard after being smashed in the compactor.
just look at all them horse powers
