US visas now demand social media details

This is for very dumb terrorists that call to kill the infidels and forget to erase that from their
muslim facebook.
Especially those dumb terrorist muslims fighting us for invading their countries (Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan) and killing their families and plundering their resources (oil), in the name of spreading democracy, and others whose tyrant regimes our govt support (Saudi, UAE, Egypt and Jordan), to name but a few.

I dunno you, but I got some experience in the mattern, so I want to tell you that the word "Dictator" is falsly used by Western (and here I refer mostly "US") to criminalize, in the eyes of public (and fool) opinion, these Leaders which do not succomb to western pressure.
Unless you believe that Mussolini was, "a great leader", then you can't patently attach those actions to the US in a blanket, "one size fits all wars we are involved with". As a NATO partner, I don't think the US has substantially interfered with your electoral process. With respect to true democracies, I think we're more likely to assess a newly elected leader, then try and deal with him or her in the most cordial and productive way possible.

Notice I didn't say we were always right, but that doesn't mean we're always wrong either.

We backed regime change recently in Venezuela, (with little or no military involvement), were we wrong in doing so? I saw footage of the then president's armored vehicles running down unarmed civilians in the streets. Do you think the footage was fake?

I'm in Italian. Regardless of my opinion, my country is a long standing sl... allied of the exceptional US. Still, I would not condamn other countries who choose differently from mine.
Well, some peoples don't get to "choose" their leaders, they are chosen for them at gunpoint. So, any outside influence, (by the US, Russia, China, or whomever), has to be evaluated on a case by case, or if you prefer, "war by war" basis.

Other countries, Russia in particular, have stepped in to oppose our efforts. Syria is the most recent example, along with an attempted Russian annexation of the Ukraine. Are you saying we should sit on our thumbs and allow the USSR to be reassembled piece by piece by Vladimir Putin. Should we stand idly by if he threatened Italy? (Which I agree is remote, but still possible, mostly by civil or cyber means).

One problem which has always existed, and IMO will always exist in the middle east, as much as you might have a valid reason to topple a brutal dictator, you never really know what will happen next. The Taliban have been integrated into Iraq's supposedly "democratic" government. Over the next decades, will their influence escalate, and women's rights in particular be thrown back into 7th century AD Muslim law?

Sometimes the need for IQ is replaced by trickery, deceit, ruthlessness, and pure greed

Trump's "strength" is, the fact that he is a true pathological liar. Insanity and sociopathy are powerful qualities, or if you prefer "tools", which can either lead you to the electric chair, or the oval office.

My observation is that those who intend to enter politics because, "they hate politicians", often quickly become the thing they supposedly despise.

Or put more traditionally, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Unfortunately, those infatuated with him are completely unable to see this - from my experience.

As I see it, he could run around naked on the WH lawn, and those infatuated with him would simply yell, "Look at how nice the Emperor looks in his new clothes."

I almost believe that he could do as he said during his campaign and commit murder - and his supporters would still support him. Barr would probably say something like "no one can indict a sitting president."

If he were as rich as he says he is, I have to wonder why he refuses to release his tax returns and, worse yet, has his minions refuse to release his tax returns.

Every empire in recorded history is built on "stolen land". As an American yourself, why latch onto currently fashionable, hipster , Muslim, and trying to appear knowledgeable haters of the US from elsewhere's, dogmatic propaganda?

Or, are you just trolling?

Or, do you really hate the US, but its money is well green enough to suit your taste?

To pick fights at a tech site, with regurgitated far left wing propaganda, is sort of tragic and desperate. (IMO, of course)
Now now Captain. Another way of looking at this is that the systemic problems will never be overcome while trouncing on another to achieve fame and fortune, and most importantly, the most toys is accepted by the populace as SOP.

It is only through looking at problematic issues with a light of truth shone on them will they be able to solved.

And "latching onto that propaganda," as you call it, does not mean an acceptance of the means and methods of those who are the enemies of true freedom.

Native Americans never believed anyone could own the land - that suggests that in their eyes, it could never be stolen. That land has just been shat on in the worst possible ways in some instances. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onondaga_Lake

:laughing::laughing: Good one. Although now I can't "unsee" the image of a 74 YO fat man, toupee waving in the wind, and the "raccoon mask in negative" like goggle tan lines on his bright orange face. That conceivably scarier than the B --, "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" turd of a horror movie.

That too, is arguably, "obstruction of justice".

Coming to the United States is a privilege, not a right. It has nothing to do with discrimination, and everything to do with national security. I'm completely fine with this. By the way, forums like this can be considered social media as well.
This approach seems more like trying to kill an alligator with a fly swatter.

Silly demands like this can always be ignored. I highly doubt that anyone that would actually present a threat to any country's national security will do anything, in this day and age, on the internet with their real identity. Not everyone is as idi0tic as 45 and his trusted minions to think that everyone requesting a visa is going to be completely honest about their online activities.

As I see it, this action deserves a resounding

The piper will call him at some point, and it will be time to pay for them all.

PS - Sorry about the image burned into your eyes. Look at the bright side - you can get endless humor laughing at his infatuates admiring his new clothes.

No, you can't "overcome human nature", until you recognize the predatory, greedy, obsessive, insatiable desires for alpha dominance over the herd", which comes directly from the abhorrent predatory beast inside us all.

It is only through looking at problematic issues with a light of truth shone on them will they be able to solved.

Actually, I think it's time we take a more pro-active approach to thinning the herd. Thanos was on the right track, but lacking "the Infinity Gauntlet", we should probably task a standing army with spaying and neutering a good chunk of the human race. That might not seem like an appropriate response to your point, but IMO, it is. The less "shatters" you have, the less shat will be smelt and dealt.

I am conceding that it would be necessary to preserve today's environmental awareness in a much smaller population

Interesting that one can say shat without censorship. ;)

Well, I do get what you are saying in that there seems to be a significant portion of the population that walk backward even though they think they are walking forward through pure ignorance or brainwashing (which ever comes first).

Honestly, I do not have an answer for that unless a way can be found for society to be more egalitarian. It may be a simpleton's viewpoint on my part, however, it seems that some of the blame can be laid on the fact that the current economic systems and what is valued by them is, essentially, conquest.

I get that not all have aptitude in all areas, but I think it would be certainly helpful if everyone were not required to grovel for gruel.

I am finishing a Native American study and one thing that I found interesting is that they often shared their agricultural practices with other tribes. (I am not saying they were perfect.) Contrast that with Monsanto...

In the past even in Western society, there have been instances where sharing proved to be the better path - take the patent battle between The Wright Brothers and Boeing, for instance. As I understand it, The Wright Brothers company no longer exists at least in part because they fought everyone over their patents.

@wiyosaya I gave you a like on that post because your idealism and naivety is so -heartwarming, charming and endearing.

I'll dispute it on a point by point basis later...;)

Sauce for the goose?
Remember, I don't have the answers. And frankly - I don't see anything like it happening in the near future.

But, WTH - Humanity is certainly welcome to keep doing the same things and expecting different results. ;):scream::cold_sweat::imp:

Are you confusing evolution with insanity, are they different branches of the same tree, or are they one and the same, threadhopper?

I don't type as fast as you, so I'm going take on your post #62, one topic at a time.

When Wright "aircraft" ended, they weren't in the business of building airframes, they built aircraft engines. "Curtis", of Curtis-Wright, manufactured the airframes.

Boeing, (AFAIK) has never been in the business of building engines.

I did some quick research, and I found nothing, (granted my search was cursory), to support your contention that a patent war destroyed them.

But granted, these patent disputes may have been running in the background.

What I did find, was that Wright never, as far as I was able to ascertain, got into the business of manufacturing JET engines. Their last product was the massive piston radial "Cyclone" branded ICEs in the Lockheed "Constellation". The Cyclones used in WWII had varying issues with reliability. Which is not to say their primary competitor's engines, Pratt & Whitney, also a radial design supplier, didn't have any problems.

The other engine suppliers in the war, concerned themselves with inline motors, these were, Rolls Royce, Packard, (building under license from RR), and Allison.

Daimler-Benz, built many aircraft engines for the Germans

Almost immediately post WWII, the jet age began, with the US F-86 "Saber" and the Russian "Mig 15" being primary combatants in the air war over Korea.

So Wright's contracts may have also dried up due to their failure to keep abreast of technological advances.

Anyway today, I believe the top players in jet engines are, GE, Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls Royce. (That needs a more extensive lookup).

There's a lot of blather in this lengthy video about the attempted restoration of "Columbine II" the original "Air force One", but worth it if you can spare the time. BTW, "Columbine II" was a Constellation, and they indeed did blow up one of its Cyclones, attempting to fly the plane back to their museum.

This is an incredibly informative, and possibly to your technical liking video, comparing the ME 109 against the P-51 Mustang's superior performance, based solely on their comparative power plant strategies and horse power, centering around gas octane (!), and manifold pressures obtained through supercharging. (But again, fair warning, 20 minutes long).

If you take up any of these topics, it should be this "Jet Age" article from Britannica.
https://www.britannica.com/technology/history-of-flight/The-jet-age

A comical, if somewhat tragic paragraph pertains to the supersonic Russian Tupolev Tu-144, or as it was derisively nicknamed, "the Concordski". (I would have gone with, "Concordskaya", a nicer ring, but that perhaps might have inferred that it was a product of Belarus).

ADDENDUMB: I did find a Wright turbo jet, but it was built under license from another company. Does that count? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_J65 Although at about 7300 Lbs of thrust, this was hardly "air superiority material" The current F-15 "Eagle" has Pratts, and the F-16 "Falcon", GE engines.

The inter-generational transfer of knowledge, culture, and values, as those pertain to the craziness and decadence of today, warrants a separate discussion.

OK, here's the patent war, which ended circa 1917: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_brothers_patent_war

From 1909 to 2017, probably should be considered "in THEIR backgrounds", considering this is 2019, GE was awarded contracts for early jet engines, and hasn't looked back

And here's the exploding Cyclone scandal during WWII:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtiss-Wright

Along with Curtis Wright's restructuring to a company which only manufactures aircraft components.

Seriously? No one is that dense so I can only surmise that you are being a smartalec. Please stop. No one has to have "social media" and there's nothing wrong with such. If you think there is, you are part of the problem.
Didn't imply you had to have anything. I asked because those are the reasons you gave. If my friends were spies, drama queens, fakes, phishers and snowflakes I would not have an account either. Even FB is what you make it or can't in your case.
