I'm Running Vista 32bit home edition on dell 1420 laptop.

i took my USB key to work this morning to get some files but it wasnt recognized by any of the computers... then i came home and moved my harddrive from my laptop to my roommates computer to transfer some files but thatt was not recognized there. ( it was working minutes b4 on my own laptop). came back to my laptop and now my USB flash driver and my external harddrive are not recognized by my own laptop either...

i get the message "USB Device not Recognized" they don't show up in disk Management for me to be able to format them

My usb drives seem to be working fine since my wireless mouse is still working.

the flash drive is a kingston 2gb datatraveler one. i got it last boxing day. didnt actually ever use it has been on my desk for a couple of months now.

my external hardrive was working minutes b4 i disconnected it to move it to my friends computer.

I have ALOT of data on my seagate 320gb hard drive and really really need them.

any help would be appreciated.

Solved
