How's the system running now? Are you facing any further problems? List them all, if any.

well my windows update don't work,WM players is dead too, system restore as well. thats the only things i noticed so far.
i still have stuck icon of trend micro pccilin in my control panel that i cant do anything with.and a game that it missing .msi so i cant delete.
i also tried to run sfc/scan and it asks me for cd half way and tells me i have a wrong cd so skip what ever it was than i placed I386 file on to my c: and went in to reg edit and change the source path to c: and tried to run sfc/scan and it still getting stuck in the same place telling me i have a wrong cd even that its a genuine cd from ther store.

That is weird. Do you have a Windows CD? I would suggest doing a repair. For entries in Add/Remove prgrams list, you can try using CCleaner.

ccleaner cant clean it out,and yea i do have a CD if u could just help me out. whats the best way to run repair and what will it affect like program wise ,my games softwares are they still will be working properly?

For information on how to repair Windows, please see HERE.

There should be no problems with your games and other softwares in question. What do you mean by CCleaner is unable to clean it out? Have you tried the misc tools section in HijackThis?

Regards,
momok

i tried delete the game with ccleaner and it tells me the same thing and even after xp repair i still have stuck icon in control panel from pccilin.

This is indeed mind-boggling. Did you try uninstalling via ccleaner or HijackThis?

Im sorry i happen to be one of those "from all over the world" . Ok when i try to run windows update from the start button it goes to website, takes half an hour to find updates for me, after i downloaded them and tried to install them, they fail to install. Happens every times i try to install the updates, even tried to install on shut down and still no hope.
I remember using XP AutoPatcher but Microsoft shut them down because more people used AutoPatcher than WUpdate,so i was wondering if its still around and where i could download it because it works better than windows update, unless some one knows how to help me .

Please be more specific in your description of the problem. "same beef"? "Microsoft got all pissed?" Please understand that forum members come from all over the world, and standard proper english is the only best way to communicate.

Also, it would not hurt to use proper sentence structure, grammar, punctuation and caps.

Ok maybe it's going to make sense now

Yes it does, thank you.
It sounds like a tricky problem, and seems hard to pinpoint the cause too.

It may be possible that it is an issue with your security settings, and need to tweak the server verifications. To adjust it accordingly, see HERE.

May I also suggest trying this link if the above does not help.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555461

EDIT: This site HERE also depicts a similar problem, but due to a seperate issue from the above.

Regards,
momok

well i was able to find autopatcher and run it and it seems to work,it patched all may 07 updates.i was able to get updates to install with regular windows update.

I see. Here are some final cleaning instructions.

  1. Please download and run CCleaner via step 9 of the instructions HERE.

  2. Delete all files in AVG Antispyware Quarantine folder. (located in C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\Quarantine)

  3. Turn off system restore (XP/ME only). Learn how to do that HERE.
This will remove all the remaining nasties from your old restore points.

  4. After that turn system restore back on.
This would have created a new safe and clean restore point for your system.

  5. Often times, an infection can occur again not due to the incompetence of programs, but because of user habits.
May I recommend you to read this article.
This can help to prevent future infections.

Should you have any further problems, please post in this thread.
