Hello Everyone

I have a friends laptop that has vista on it,it has worked fine for about 8 months but now when you turn it on it comes up with the fault non system or disk error.
He had problems with the computer last week and phoned up the help line they told him the boot manager was corrupted told him what he had to do over the phone and this made the laptop work untill yesterday.
I have tried the recovery disk and it wont repair or re-install vista

Anyone got any ideas on what to try next?

Thanks
Andy

non system or disk error or disk error

Confirm that your Recovery CD (or DVD) is in fact a Boot disc
ie It can start the computer (or any computer really)

Generally though this message refers to the HardDrive not being found
Try reseating the Harddrive, or possibly replacing the internal Harddrive (or data cable)
