Watch AMD unveil the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT right here at 11 am EST / 8 am PT

Isn't. 550 eur here. 6800xt sells at 520. 4070 at 550 on sale too.
used 3080 cost me 389eur, mint condition, half warranty left.
Kudos to them for making fsr3 fg available for rtx30 too though. IMO they should not have done that, cater for your paying customers first ffs amd.
Well you have completely different market. In the US, the 7800xt is $100-150 cheaper than the 4070. If what the benchmarks say is true, 7800xt for $500 is a no-brainer in today's market

I don't understand why people are getting mad about the GRE, it was a product developed for the Chinese market to comply with US sanctions and isn't even avaliable for purchase outside of pre-built systems. Its cost is irrelevant because you can't buy it and isn't even available outside of Asia or Australia. It might as well not exist.
The point of the GRE is that it, a 80 cu card, is indicative of where the slower 60cu 7800xt will lie, and that result is not good.
What was the MSRP of the 6800xt? If I remember correctly, it was an $800 card. This will likely be faster and have an MSRP less than the 6800xt. Don't like it? You can still but 6000 series cards. And, most importantly, these cards will bring down the cost of "new-old" stock so those 6800xt's going for $500 right now could drop to 400 or below. This will likely put the 6700xt below the $300 mark.

People are so angry about this launch for absolutely no reason while also ignoring the other market implications its going to have. The 7700xt will force a price drop on the entire 4060 series.
It was $650. Given where the GRE sits, it is very likely the 7800xt will not match the 6800xt in performance, it will, at best, be a 6800 competitor. And that was a $580 card. So we've gone from $580 to $500 in 2 years. WOOOOOO!

People are pissed because the perf/$ of this gen royally sucks. Much like people were pissed at the RTX 2000 series. For the same reason.

Cache is cut down (from what is supposed to be for 80CU card, see 7900XT) and clock speeds are much lower.

No, you cannot compare 7900GRE and 7800XT directly.

The GRE has the same amount of IC as the 7800xt. However, compute units do not tell the whole story. The 7800xt actually has a higher TBP than the GRE so that power has to go somewhere.

The GRE is an outlier in nearly every way. It's to the point where it "costs" 650 but isn't avaliable for sale so the people putting in pre-built systems are probably not paying anywhere near that. On top of that, it was made for a specific market for political reasons. It isn't a card AMD wants to actively sell. It also doesn't scale how you would expect with the 7900xt and xtx.

7700XT may seem reasonable (there's gen-to-gen perf jump, at least) but it is also much more expensive than 6700XT. Happy I've solved this problem for myself and got an 6700XT. Sad but I was too late to get an 6800.

7800XT looks like a joke. The problem is that in the reality there's no real competition at this price point. When 6800/XT runs out of stock worldwide, then you can get only this 7800XT matching 6800XT perf at best for the price of last 6800XTs.

The XFX 6800 XT fell to $490 at Amazon, but this might be the remainder of the stock

lol the 6800 xt was marketed as 4k card
"4K Visuals
4K gaming is now possible at smooth framerates and ultra-high settings, powered by up to 72 enhanced compute units, all new AMD Infinity Cache, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. With a powerful blend of raytracing and rasterized effects, your 4K gaming experience is elevated to new levels of visual fidelity."
now the 7800 xt is marketed as 1440p card.

.
People have been saying that the 6000 series has been going to run out of stock for nearly a year now and it's still wildly available. I bought a 6700xt back I'm December for $320 and they're still selling for $320-350

$450 7700XT = 6800 but with 12GB

What a shame. Should've been $400 max. Can't blame AMD when Nvidia is asking $400/$500 for slower cards.

7800XT looks good compared to the 4070 12GB.
