I have a user's XP Pro laptop in front of me. On friday, it began locking up right before the logon screen, and a scandisk seemed to fix it. Unfortunately, when I attempt to logon via the domain or the local computer, it says "The system cannot log you on now because the domain ******* is not available."
I have seen this happen while attempting to logon to the domain and usually just rejoin the machine by logging in locally, but I've never seen a machine refuse to log me on to "this machine."
I assume the logon services are tanking? Should I attempt a Windows Repair, or has someone seen this before?
