When I connect my external hard disk to my computer

When I connect my external 1 TB Adata hardisk to my computer,then a flash comes that the drive needs to be formatted.But the icon of the hardisk is showing.This hardisk is working properly in other PCs and it is new,besides I can not format it 'cause it contains valuable files.Can someone help me please?

The drive might be starting to fail; would be smart to back everything on it up somewhere else just in case.

Edit: Just noticed that you said the drive is new.

You might want to try transferring the data onto a different drive/computer, reformatting the disk, and then transferring the data back onto the disk?

Can you give another solution please?Actually at this moment I can not get another computer or drive..By the way thanks for your help..

Confer with your system/motherboard manuals...check Boot Order and Boot Devices in Setup/BIOS.
