If that is the correct model number, then you have found it...basically, it is the set of drivers for components mounted on the motherboard - a laptop can have a lot of different ones, including things like bluetooth, etc.

Win10 is pretty smart, Win7 is usually smart - and both may load drivers which work, but sometimes the manufacturer's drivers work better.

BIOS is considered separately because it is a risk to update and needs to be handled with care (and close reading of instructions).

So weed out the applications and read up on the remaining drivers..I note there are several versions..I usually try most recent. Knowledge Base may have some specific help which you are looking for.

ATA Channels: The data pathway over which information flows in the IDE/ATA interface is called a channel. Each IDE channel is capable of communicating with up to two IDE/ATAdevices (including ATAPI devices if they are supported by the BIOS).

There appears to be an IDE Controller and a SATA Controller - both provided by AMD. Try right clicking and looking at properties.

I also came across this which may help.

Hi. Thanks again.I don't see much in properties. I'm really thinking the chipset is in with the AMD graphics driver. I think I remember seeing that a long time ago, but I can't find where I saw that.
Thanks everyone for your help.
