  1. Unable to install Windows 2000 Professional. Always freezes up during the final phase of install. Have tried several times with the same result. This is a dual boot with Win 98 SE & Win 2000 Pro on a brand new hard drive with separate partitions. Please help. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Try to copy the whole CD onto the harddisk, somewhere on the W98-partition, boot into W98 and install W2K from HD, in the new partition. Perhaps do a quick format of the new W2K partition with FAT32 before you start.

The install-CD might also be dirty or have a scratch, gently clean the shiny surface with a mild detergent and some water, making circular movements while cleaning. Dry with a lintfree cloth.
