Windows 8.1 extended support is ending soon

I get better frame rates in games with 8.1 and all drivers work correctly

Driver support is horrible in Windows 10 and games simply crash in Windows 11 even when using the same video driver as Windows 10

Software compatibility in 8.1 is much better than 10 or 11

Less spyware/malware in 8.1 as well

8.1 just works
10 and 11 never worked correctly and they never will
All my driverless bluetooth devices work fine in any version of Windows from XP and later

What does your software support provide you that a driverless dongle does not?
There's a saying about statements like this where I come from, and you're full of it.

First, the driver model for Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11 is identical and completely interchangeable. Unless artificially limited, 7 drivers will work in 11 & everything inbetween and vice-verse.

Second, there are NO driverless BT dongles that will work in XP, they don't exist, because,

Third, XP has no native BT support and never will. Native BT support did not come to Windows until 10 and even then was limited until Redstone2. Whatever BT device you are using is utilizing a standard HID profile, which is very limiting for BT devices.

Fourth, software compatibility in 10 is identical to 8.1 and is MUCH improved for 11, especially for older software.

Fifth, "Less spyware/bloatware in 8.1 as well", fixed that for you. And while it's true there is a bit more in 10/11, not by much and it is trivial to disable and remove it.

Because some of them DO?

I simply never noticed that my Logitech G915TKL did not work in XP over bluetooth, nor does my Razer Deathadder V2 Pro mouse because I have always used them with 2.4Ghz wireless in XP and they work fine

So you are right about that

Every bluetooth audio transmitter I have works fine in XP though as those are the only devices I ever use with buetooth

So to sum it up, since every bluetooth device I own works in XP, I guess it is not really relevant whether it is running on bluetooth or 2.4Ghz wireless

Thanks for correcting me!

And those are HID type devices and that is the only functionality they have.
