Windows Vista System Restore not Working! HELP!!!

Hello.. I have problem running my system restore on windows vista. How can I fix this? Please help.

You can help us help you by describing what you are doing and the response from the computer... remembering that if you did not create a system restore point some time in the past, there will be no restore to run.

I did create a restore points..but when I hit the system restore.. This is what it says.. Please wait while your windows files and settings are being restored. System Restore is Initializing..... That's it.. I'm waiting for 2 hrs but nothing happened...
