my pc(dell dimension b110) recently got infected with antimalware doctor. i used malwarebytes to remove it, i quaratined the infected before removing. and now when i start my pc it will load the dell start up screen and then it goes black. i dont get the windows xp load screen it just stays black. when i try to boot up in safe mode it only loads like a 1/4 of the files. "seems that way to me" does anybody have any idea how i can resolve this issue without restoring the pc?

Maybe try to boot with an AV disk and see if there's still some parts of the infected files around. AVG, Bitdefender, AVIRA, and Kaspersky all make boot disks. Obviously you'll need a working machine to burn the disk.
You could also try doing a repair install which will put Windows back to a clean install but leave your documents and other files alone. I would do a backup before attempting this by using a Linux Live CD or a BartPE CD.
