When this happened to me and nothing else would work, I replaced the power supply and it never happened again.

Thanks, tried that. I brought it to a shop near here. The motherboard is shot. ordered another and should have it back this week.

Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.

Hello there, I just bought the same mainboard as yours (ASRock P4V88) and I also got the same errors about couldn't start the windows and RAM detection. I have 2x512MB 400 DDR and in bios, it detects as 333Mhz.
I fixed the first problem though. I format it and it works. But now my CPU usage reaches 100% all the time. Let me know how your things turn out after you got your board back.

P.S. sorry about my bad english, I'm Thai....wait...I bought it in Thailand and has same errors as yours? This means my board is shot too? :(((

Not really sure if you're interested in my suggestion since this was posted a few months ago but since I haven't seen any one mention this in any of the posts about asrock p4v88. Check the capacitors on the motherboard (little battery looking things) if they are bulging or leaking then that's your problem. This board is known to have cheap faulty tachion (sp?) capacitors on them.
I had the same problems as you and after a week of endless troubleshooting I came across a website that explained this. I checked the caps and sure enough their tops where bulging and one had already begun to leak. When this happens it pretty much takes out the power controls on the mb (which is what happened to mine)
Hope this helps.
