You really should disable AUTORUN & AUTOPLAY

Windows' Autorun feature is turned on by default on most Windows versions, allowing programs to run from an external device as soon as they are attached to a computer.

Because malware can exploit the Autorun feature — spreading its unfortunate payload to your PC — it has been somewhat polarizing, and many users choose to disable it. When so disabled, you can at least scan the device with your antivirus to gain some confidence. It's trivial to then open the device and find any runable program, installer or setup.

Livewire.com has a simple explanation on how-to make your system more secure.

set the NoDriveTypeAutoRun to F7 to disallow all EXCEPT fixed hard drives

Windows/10 is much easier
