YouTuber gets 15-month prison sentence, $22,300 fine for giving homeless man toothpaste-filled...

I find it funny how the article is about toothpaste oreos and the side comment is s*** sandwiches. Like toothpaste oreos is like 1 month jail time in my head. S*** sandwiches makes a 15 months look like he got off light. Can someone like that be reformed? Thats an even better question. 15 months ought to make him think twice which might be two more thoughts then he originally had.

I wouldn't mind $22,300 for vomiting, but this is a frivolous lawsuit. I'm not sure what religion he was a pastor as, but you should forgive others for their transgressions, not retaliate. Evil begets evil. But just because someone received a pastoral title doesn't mean much. A prank is a prank... good grief. I don't care if he did it to the pope.

I'm sure if this happened to you or someone close to you, you'd be just as forgiving. Right?

The guy is a jerk, trying to get hits on his stupid YouTube Channel. You can't get much more shallow than that. He deserves every bit of jail/grief coming to him.

if this happen to me I would laugh it off and keep walking.

We are talking about toothpaste here something most of us swallow a little bit of when brushing our teeth for most of our lives. Had this prank happens 20 years ago no one would even give a **** but in the PC climate we live in now its snowflake city everywhere.

Lmao at the lets send him to jail for numerous years and ruin his life for a prank.

Now for the side comment about the **** sandwiches that is a little more serious because you can seriously hurt someone with Bacteria so if it was that alone I would agree with the what he got.

Other than that MAN UP children. I did far worse pranks than this in my teenage years but that was in the 90's so no cell phones no camera's internet too slow and no social media miss those days.

It is not a prank, when someone is making fun of someone else's condition. Especially if they are not friends to begin with. This crosses a line and becomes cruelty.

Ok then give him a fine but to use tax payers dollars to keep this guy in jail is kinda of a waste of money don't you think?

:facepalm:So what if the pastor forgives him. It was the authorities who charged him. Was this not clear?

There have been many murderers that have been forgiven by the families of those they have murdered. However, they were still charged with crimes by the state. So in your book, murderers who are forgiven by the families of their victims should go free?

Actions like these can harm someone. What if the pastor had inhaled his own vomit into his lungs? If something like that happened, it could have lead to the pastor's death through suffocation or secondary infection.

And here, please educate yourself about "Toothpaste is harmless" https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/002745.htm

I really do not get how people simply have no clue about things like this.

EDIT: Just in case anyone still believes that toothpaste is harmless - http://kidemergencies.com/toothpasteingestion.html

So, you are comparing eating a little bit of toothpaste to murder? Wow, that is grasping straws. lol

What I am confused to is that the toothpaste wasn't tasted, and I am perplexed if it was eaten whole. FYI, if you read, he is not a pastor any more. It is of no relevance in your sentence.

I read your link. Wow, how insightful. Perhaps you could have found something of value? "This article discusses the effects of swallowing a lot of toothpaste." A "lot"... lol, gee thanks.

I do not get how people simply have no clue and link an article without any frame of reference. "Toothpaste is bad, mmmk?". lol thanks for enlightening us.
Dude, eating toothpaste can cause problems, especially for someone who is not on a normal diet like a homeless man. Even more so with giving **** to others to eat.
He deserves to be treated as a criminal because that's what he is. Everything he did could have caused serious health issues and he was doing it for personal and monetary gains.

That this crime happen 20 years ago and got cough selling the videos he would have been beaten half to death by his parents and still go to prison. Today he just went to jail. Snowflakes indeed.

People like to use the word "snowflake" to make the most stupid excuses.

People here also seem to forget that this kind of bullying can easily lead to suicide. He wasn't picking on his brother or a close friend, he was bullying people that are already very depressed and homeless.

Are you teaching your kid to kick someone who is already down? Is that how you build character? Is that how you got to be like this?

Yeah things were so much better 20 years ago when we had videos like bum fights....(sarcasm) They only got misdemeanors. Well until 2014 when they got caught shipping a babies head from Thailand?!

I always wonder how they will monitor him to be sure he's not on social media... I bet the punk gets back on under pseudonym and just doesn't post any pics of himself. These kind of douche bags can't resist the urge to be douche-like. I hope he gets caught violating and does real time.

Far from frivolous. The guy is a serial offender and has given people sandwiches filled with cat ****. If anything he should be fined more and be out in jail longer. Flouride ingested in large enough quantities right off also can have detrimental health effects and cat **** could cause tons of issues too. A prank does not seek to physically cause harm to people and is harmless. This guy is a sociopath parading as a prankster and people like you that go "a prank is a prank" are brain dead or something. What happens when one of his "pranks" cause death?

A person suggesting it isn't the same as putting him up to it
That is exactly what it was.
it was still his choice to take it that far
That part is correct

However people wanting to see a crime is (in my opinion) just as guilty as the person committing the crime. There would be way less incentive, if no one wanted to see the crime done.

He still chose based in random crap someone said. I don't see how that makes someone as culpable. They are to a lesser extent, but not to the same level. A sane person that does have sociopathic/psychopathic tendencies would know not to take those suggestions and go with it. Regardless of, the YouTuber is a **** and honestly should of probably been fined somewhere around 50 grand and did 3 years

You guys are all insane. the amount of stuff people get away with and this KID is going to PRISON over handing someone a friggin COOKIE? PRISON? FOR A COOKIE? this world is a joke man. it's a cookie. toothpaste isnt going to kill u the second u ingest. you ingest it while you brush your teeth regardless of whether you swallow it. the amount of alcoholics who I've heard of chugging mouthwash when they're out of booze is alot and guess what? they're fine. prison for a cookie lol what a joke. if he'd've handed the man a job application with a feather and some ink he'd be shot on the spot over there. like why don't you just be a man and handle your own problems and knock the little ***** around a bit for being a jerk to you? but instead you go cry for a lawsuit over a cookie filled with mouth cleanser lol. what a joke of a man this is honestly. homeless. a bum who probably doesn't try and the second he saw an opportunity to score some cash he took it. I bet he's still homeless too. what a joke. you know what would happen to me if I did that and my dad found out? I'd have to go apoligize to the mans face and when I got home my dad would hand me my own *** on a silver platter because I was a jerk. prison doesn't need to be involved for **** like this. this world is so soft lol. lastly what kind of person just willingly takes oreos from a random stranger without inspecting the things? smell it buddy, maybe you'll avoid stupid scenarios if you'd just be........a functioning human.

double lastly "Last week, a Barcelona court found Ren guilty of violating the moral integrity of the homeless man, according to the New York Times." im pretty sure a homeless persons moral integrity is pretty low which is how they're homeless to begin with and of course im not referring to the people who became homeless because of financial troubles out of their control, im talking about true bums.

triple lastly. this kid needs a mental health evaluation and medicine moreso than prison. with a thought process like that something is a bit off from the norm

Did you people forget that prisons are for DANGEROUS people?

First off this person is an adult the age of 19. He is no longer a "kid" and he knows better by this point unless he is a freaking psychopath or sociopath. This nonchalant attitude of yours that he is just a kid is why serial killers don't get noticed until they start killing people in droves and then everyone is like "Well he seemed like such a nice normal guy" and it is because you opt to ignore the obvious bullshit right in front of you. Also mouth wash doesn't have flouride in it and the alcohol is diluted enough that injesting it isn't going to do much harm unless you drink it at a ridiculous rate. Most of the ingredients in mouth wash actually won't harm you. Flouride on the other hand can actually cause heart problems and intestinal blockages

And this person IS dangerous. He has attempted to feed people fecal matter on top of this latest stunt. He has a history of this kind of **** which is probably something that was taken into account with charging him in the first place. He should of been arrested back when he attempted to feed people feces sandwiches. Pranks that can cause actual physical and mental harm to an individual are not funny, not safe, and most importantly are not something that should be overlooked. This wasn't a 12 year old leaving a flaming bag of dogshit on someone's front porch and doorbell dashing away. This was an adult meticulously replacing all the cream in a package full of oreos and then carefully resealing it so that it looked like it was unopened and then going to feed it to a homeless person and all that.

Also the homeless that drink mouth wash are doing so by choice and not being tricked into it by a sociopath. Yes, he should probably have a mental evaluation, but he also should get away with it scott free either. This kind of **** isn't a joke and he isn't young enough to be doing this sort of ****. If you want to see actual pranks go watch Punk'D those never harmed people.

@Lionvibez, I'll agree with that 100%. I still think his follower that suggested it, is just as guilty and deserves the same prosecution.

At 19 years old I was physically bigger than both of my parents there was no way in hell they would have been able to beat me half to death lol. And no 20 years ago there was no social media or YouTube so you wouldn't have even heard about this that same goes for the authorities. I'm not saying I agree with what he did but if I was citizen of spain I sure has hell don't want my tax dollars going to jail a 19year old for a prank. Slap him with a $5000 fine and call it a day.

lmao you assume alot in your post.

I have no children not really interested in bringing children into this screwed up planet we live on. And I got to be the way I am because I was raised by a man.
And I know the difference between real problems and silly pranks.

if a prank like this of eating oreo's with toothpaste causing someone to think about suicide you are a weak individual and need help.

Assuming the person is not allergic.

Altering the contents of consumables is not a joking matter. You need to know someone's allergies before pulling consumable jokes. This is probably the number one reason they landed jail time.

Fluoride is dangerous whether or not you are allergic to it. I was more pointing out that a homeless person drinking mouth wash which has stuff that is "bad" in a sense, but not really super toxic to you and them knowingly ingesting it of their own volition is a slant bit different than tricking them into eating fluoride in cookies. If the guy had a fluoride allergy this could of been much much worse.

You should never prank people particularly people you do not know with food or beverage based 'pranks" at that point it stops being a prank and it's criminal imo. I lost a friend in my teens because some folks put something in his drink and he was deathly allergic to it.

if a prank like this of eating oreo's with toothpaste causing someone to think about suicide you are a weak individual and need help.

It stopped being a prank the moment he messed with something a person ingests in any way shape or form. If your prank may cause physical or real psychological harm it stops being a prank. You never pull a prank on someone involving food or liquid or anything they may ingest unless you know the full work up of their food or other allergies.

This adult (and he's an adult by law) needs to learn that there are ramifications for his actions. A 5,000 dollar fine does nothing. Maybe the people of spain want their tax dollars going to take a sociopath with a history of pulling potentially dangerous pranks on strangers he doesn't know that could ultimately lead to DEATH. Frankly in the states if the person had a heart attack (which is a side effect of ingesting fluoride in a large quantity) he'd of likely been tried for attempted murder and if he died from said heart attack he'd be on the hook for manslaughter or murder chargers.

And lets be clear here this is not a kid pulling a prank. It's an adult and it is time his testes dropped and he grew the hell up. And since your type wants to keep bringing up "but you swallow fluoride when you brush your teeth" I for one do not ingest it in a quantity big enough to look like oreo cream. The amount you may ingest from brushing your teeth is a small amount even compared to how much is in it when you brush your teeth. You are supposed to use a pea sized amount of tooth paste and you may ingest maybe 1/50th of that that has been diluted with water in all likelihood. If he kept the same amount to a normal oreo it has about 3.61 grams of cream on it so lets assume same amount of toothpaste. This is 2 - 3 times the amount you use when brushing your teeth. If he ate more than a single cookie this starts to add up to more and more in a short time.

By the by it is illegal to mess with food given to a person no matter what. If I put ipecac in your beverage and we are both adults I can face jail time. There is a point where it is not a prank and the **** this guy is doing could actually end up killing someone that doesn't get lucky. Excusing this type of behavior as just a prank empowers these type of people to continue doing it and they'll keep pushing it until someone actually dies and they are then in jail for 20 to life. Frankly if I were a citizen of spain I'd be asking why he didn't get a harsher penalty given he has shown a behavioral pattern that at best is legally questionable and at worst is flat out malicious toward people in a legally indefensible manner.

You may of "done worse", but frankly you just got lucky that no one ever pressed charges against you if that is true.
