YouTuber gets 15-month prison sentence, $22,300 fine for giving homeless man toothpaste-filled...

That is a prime example of my strong opinion against this behavior.

Not to mention that he's putting **** in there that is toxic to anyone and not just people that are allergic to it. He should of been put into custody back when he attempted to feed people cat feces given he could of caused a multitude of health problems for people including e.coli which could lead to death. Something done in jest that is illegal or dangerous is still illegal and dangerous. If I cut someone's brake lines in jest it is still illegal and dangerous. Tampering with food items is considered a crime in and of itself.

To anyone thinking these kind of things are just harmless pranks. They aren't and they can and have led to loss of life. They can very quickly become deadly. I have to half wonder if some people defending this sort of thing are people subscribed to, fans of, or favorited his youtube channel

$5,000 is a lot of money for a 19 year old I think that fine is high enough to set an example.

5 grand is nothing to some of these youtubers. I'd be questioning why in the world he got off so light given past behavior of doing similar things. These "pranks" can turn deadly and it is about time that people like you actually realize just how quickly they can turn bad.

It should of been sealed yes, The thing is the "pranker" meticulously repacked the entire thing after to try and make it look as unsealed as he could which again is part of the problem. Food tampering even if it is just for a single person is criminal and should never be done even in jest.

I wouldn't mind $22,300 for vomiting, but this is a frivolous lawsuit. I'm not sure what religion he was a pastor as, but you should forgive others for their transgressions, not retaliate. Evil begets evil. But just because someone received a pastoral title doesn't mean much. A prank is a prank... good grief. I don't care if he did it to the pope.

I highly doubt the man will see the money.

Did they also fine all the world's toothpaste manufacturers for putting the fluoride in the paste? Because in many countries you can't even buy toothpaste without fluoride. Which is a substance that was used in Nazi concentration camps to keep the prisoners obedient. How many billion$ should the manufacturers pay for poisoning the population?

They gave him an almighty smack on the wrists and cut off his income for 5 years. He will be no one on YouTube by the time he allowed back. I think that's a very fitting punishment for a young man who is learning his way in the world. Actual jail time would not serve him or the community at all.

While he's working flipping burgers or digging holes now he'll have plenty of time to think about what he did wrong.

Ah c'mon man. The homeless dude hadn't brushed his teeth in two years and his breath was probably quite funky. The youtuber was just tryin to lend a helping hand by providing a treat that would give a sugar fix and strengthen his teeth at the same time. After the treat he probably gave a bar of soap.
