The BlackBerry Bold 9930 is a CDMA/GSM world phone with a 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen and a 1.2 Ghz processor. The device sports a 5MP camera on the back, 768MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in memory and one of the best keyboards you'll find on a smartphone. It also comes with the latest BlackBerry 7, though unfortunately this is only a minor update to RIM's aging platform and not terribly different from OS 6.

Announced at a special event back in June, the Photon 4G is Motorola's first smartphone to support WiMAX connectivity. It follows the popular HTC EVO 3D, and with a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8MP camera, global roaming capabilities, and Android 2.3. An optional desktop dock transforms the phone into a nettop – Motorola doesn't offer a laptop dock for this phone, though.

Samsung Infuse 4G features a large 4.5-inch super AMOLED touch screen that's great for browsing and videos – though unfortunately it maintains the 800x480 resolution of its predecessors so pixel density is not that great. This Android 2.3 smartphone features a thin all-plastic body, an 8MP camera, theoretical download speeds of 21Mbps and snappy performance courtesy of a 1.2GHz (single core) CPU. While its large size will turn some off, others will enjoy having a bit more screen space to type and browse on.

The Droid 3 packs a 1GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP processor that makes the phone feel speedy when browsing through menus or scrolling through the home screens. It has an excellent five-row QWERTY keyboard, maintains the great build quality of its predecessors, and was upgraded with Android 2.3. That said, compared with the competition the phone's 4-inch qHD (540x960) display isn't that sharp, it lacks support for Verizon's speedy LTE network, and call and picture quality could be better.

The HTC EVO 3D packs a dual core 1.2GHz CPU and Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB RAM, 4.3-inch QHD glasses-free 3D screen, and 3D video recording and picture taking capabilities. Internal storage is only 4GB but the phone comes packaged with an 8GB class 4 microSD card. The EVO 3D is by no means a small phone, but for those used to the EVO 4G or similar phones it will feel at home in your hand.
