Acer, who is now ranked the largest notebook vendor in Europe, is set to do very well in the US as far as notebook sales go, with about 130,000-150,000 units expected in the first quarter of this year.
Efforts by the two US leading distributors - Ingram Micro and Tech Data - to promote Acer's notebooks contributed to Acer's estimated shipment growth. Overall, global shipments of Acer notebooks are expected to expand 60% on-year, to 1.3 million units in the first quarter of this year.
