It has been revealed that Nintendo should be set to launch its new games console next year. Although no official release date has as yet been set, Nintendo do expect a 2006 launch of their new system, which is currently code-named "Revolution". The console should be wireless ready, and also backwards compatible with the generation GameCube. It will be powered by a chip from IBM, and will receive its graphics power courtesy of a graphics processor from ATI Technologies Inc. It will utilise 12 cm optical discs and be "about the size of three DVD cases stacked together."
