Anyone using a Radeon card will be pleased to know that ATI has just released the next set in the Catalyst series. The Catalyst 6.6 series are available for Windows platforms, and like usual for Catalyst you will need the .NET 1.1 Framework installed in order to use them. For Windows XP/2000, the package weighs in at a hefty 22.4MB (about average for driver suites these days). The new driver set includes a host of fixes, including performance boosts for F.E.A.R., Far Cry and Splinter Cell. The F.E.A.R. improvements are supposedly 8.5-14%, which is quite a jump just for updating drivers. Other fixes include better channel detection for ATI's MMC, fixing of AA corruption when using 8x or higher, problems with swapping LCD and CRT devices, and more. You can read the full release notes at ATI's site.
