It seems like there is a new mini-laptop hitting the market every week, with the latest company taking aim at the Eee PC’s crown being no other than HP. The company is reportedly looking to break into the UMPC market with its new 2133 ultra-portable notebook, which apparently could hit store shelves in late spring this year.
No specs or hard numbers have been revealed, but according to some leaked images and info obtained by Engadget, the 2133 will run either Windows Vista or Linux and feature an 8.9-inch display, a nearly full-size keyboard, ExpressCard slot, WLAN, integrated webcam, and optional SSD.
Moreover, the tiny notebook is rumored to be competitively priced, much like the Asus Eee PC. In fact, according to one HP staff, “you won’t even need to consider this purchase. You’ll buy it like a handphone without a thought”. Though given the features and aluminum body, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 2133 is priced well above the Eee PC. (Image source: Engadget)
