Developer Bethesda has today released a new update for all versions of Fallout 3, patch 1.1, which fixes a number of bugs and addresses issues with some of the game's quests. Console versions will be automatically updated the next time the game loads up, while PC users can find the patch and a set of release notes over at FileShack.

In addition to fixing bugs, the update is also required to play the upcoming PC and Xbox 360 downloadable content, which will come out on January 27. Dubbed Operation: Anchorage, this first DLC episode for Bethesda's highly-acclaimed post apocalyptic action title should provide about four or five hours of gameplay and will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
