Super Talent is bringing a new triple-channel memory kit to market, aimed of course at Core i7 based boards. Starting off with DDR3-1800 modules, Super Talent is offering kits in 3GB and 6GB sizes (3x1GB sticks or 3x2GB sticks) with 8-8-8-24 latencies. With slightly higher latency they go up a speed rank with similar DDR3-2000 kits. Those latencies put these “Chrome” series kits in-line with other offerings, such as Kingston's HyperX, and is the fastest offering Super Talent currently has.
That's still somewhat behind the fastest modules currently available, but triple-channel rated kits are not yet as common as DDR2 dual channel kits. You can read more about these modules in the press release after the jump.
It would be useful to accompany new products like these with sales figures for Core i7 based machines. Intel isn't sharing specific information, but seems to be doing relatively well. I find it hard to believe that Core i7 played a big part in helping Intel turn a profit the last quarter, however, especially as overall PC sales have continued to dwindle with only low-cost laptops and particularly netbooks gaining a stronger foothold.
