Fujitsu has unveiled a new touchscreen convertible Lifebook T580 with some beefy specs for its size. The 10.1-inch machine sports 1920x1200 capacitive and pressure sensitive display that can accept input from up to four fingers and is attached with a swivel hinge for tablet functionality. It weighs in at a respectable 1.4kg (a hair over 3lbs at its lightest) and houses an Intel Core i3-380UM or i5-560UM processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 64GB/128GB SSD or a 160GB/320GB/500GB HDD.
The T580 also includes a spill-resistant keyboard, a fingerprint sensor, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, various card slots, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WWLAN, and GPS connectivity (the latter three are optional), as well as VGA, HDMI, and USB 2.0 ports. Fujitsu claims up to eight hours of battery life with a six cell battery, and a smaller three cell pack is available too. The T580 will supposedly be up for preorder on October 1 with a global release in November, but pricing has yet to be revealed.
