Harmonix Music Systems and Mad Catz Interactive are bringing the band back together. The duo announced that a new Rock Band game is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

Rock Band 4 will arrive alongside new game controllers and more than 2,000 updated tracks.

While we don't yet have a solid release date, the companies did provide some information on a couple of bundles. The first, called Band-in-a-Box, will include the game, a wireless Fender Stratocaster guitar controller, a wireless drum kit controller and a microphone.

Those not planning to play with friends or family can opt for the less expensive Guitar Bundle that only comes with the game and a Stratocaster guitar controller.

There's also good news for those that have already invested in the Rock Band ecosystem. All songs downloaded on previous versions of the game will be imported into Rock Band 4 so you won't have to repurchase everything. Furthermore, the game's lead developer Daniel Sussman said they are working their asses off with Microsoft and Sony on a solution to allow old instruments to work on the new consoles and is confident they will come up with a solution.

Anyone that pre-orders the game at the Harmonix booth during this week's PAX East festival will gain access to a special edition Stratocaster controller featuring artwork from Penny Arcade's "Gabe."
