Beats 360

The Beats 360 ($350) shake up the athletic headphone category with an official IPX4 sweat rating, modular auto-tuning cushions and 32 hours of battery life. The lack of wear detection hold them back from complete over-ear dominance, and they're not best-in-class when it comes to noise cancellation, but these are the best headphones Beats has ever released.

At $350, these headphones are pricey, but the thing about Beats headphones these days is that their list price tends to be a lot higher than their street price. The Beats Studio Pro also listed for $350 when they first came out (they remain on the market at $300 list), but it wasn’t too long before they were selling for $250 or less in flash sales.

The new Beats 360 are premium headphones that are customizable, sweat-resistant, sound great, and can be your new workout partner at the gym.

The Beats 360 pairs excellent sound, strong ANC, long battery life, and a secure, workout-ready fit, making the headphones hugely appealing. However, heat build-up, fiddly controls, and no wired listening keep them from perfection.

We awarded the Beats 360 an Editors’ Choice award for tangible upgrades to noise cancellation, voice pickup, and overall audio performance. More importantly, this award reflects Beats’ fresh take on over-ear headphones, with the addition of water resistance and highly useful interchangeable padding. The 360’s water resistance and vision for interchangeable pads are a large part of why I rated it so highly.

With swappable ear cushions and IPX4 water resistance, the Beats 360 should stand up better to sweat than other headphones from Sony, Bose, and Apple.
